2 Hurt in San Marcos Shooting

Two men were injured in a suspected gang shooting in San Marcos Wednesday evening, sheriff’s deputies said.

Shots were fired at around 6:20 p.m. near the intersection of West Mission Road and Pico Avenue.
Officials said two men were injured in the shooting.

One victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest and was in stable condition hours after the incident. The second victim sustained several gunshot wounds to the chest and was left in critical condition, officials said. Both were taken to local hospitals.

Witnesses told deputies the men were wounded in a drive-by shooting but the suspect description was very limited. The incident is believed to be gang-related.

No arrests have been made.
