I recently took a road trip and tried to make an effort to listen to a lot of new albums. One that was quite a pleasant listen while driving through the desert was by the Deep Dark Woods. They've certainly got the folky sound down, and their latest, "Yarrow," is a great listen. It's a tough call, though, because the always lovely Grace Mitchell is returning to town with a show at Soda Bar, and Hippo Campus (who maybe have my favorite name in contemporary bands) play at House of Blues and it sounds like there might still be a handful of tickets for that show.
