The staid restaurant scene of Encinitas will soon receive a wake-up call from Chef Matt Gordon, who's expanding his Urban Solace concept to a new perch on the shoulder of the train tracks at 25 East E St. In this exclusive hard-hat tour of what's shaping up as Solace & The Moonlight Lounge, Gordon reveals all but one entree on his upcoming menu. The rest he's keeping a tight secret until the restaurant opens the week of August 15.
Solace arrives with an investment of "under a million dollars" and will feature two levels, multiple dining areas and three patios opposed to the one-room, one-patio Urban Solace in North Park. [The Feast]
