San Diego is home to some of the finest craft beer breweries in the nation. So what happens when top brewers team up with some of San Diego's top chefs? It's called the "Cooks Confab: Grain to Glass, Farm to Table", and it's all about food and beer working together.
"San Diego's got quite a reputation...there's a big camaraderie among the brewers in San Diego," said brewer Peter Zien with AleSmith Brewing Company.
Instead of pairing the beer to the food, they did it the other way around -- pairing the food to the beer.
"These aren't just watered down beers, there's a lot of soul and heart that goes into these, a lot of characteristics and flavors and they're great pairs for food," Christian Graves, executive chef with Jsix restaurant.
Some of the brewers and chefs participating in this event include:
- AleSmith Brewing Company
- Ballast Point Brewing Company
- Stone Brewery (winner of the Golden Local - Best Brewery!)
