Break a Computer!

Youngsters in San Carlos are learning about computers by breaking them apart.

How about a little "educational destruction"? Kids and teens will get the chance to learn about  how their PC or laptop works by breaking a computer apart and exploring its guts at the San Carlos Library on March 5 at 3:30 p.m.  It's part of Teen Tech Week, which is designed to connect kids with different technologies.

"Your old throwaway computers, monitors, keyboards and component parts are still needed for this project," according to the library.

While you're at the library, check out the "steampunk" exhibits. Steampunk is a growing cultural and lifestyle phenomenon that began as science fiction with a Victorian twist. Just for kicks, check out these steampunk computers.
