Sounds Like San Diego: July 11

The Growlers return to San Diego, this time for a sold-out all-ages show at the North Park Theatre

I couldn't be more ready for this weekend. I'm so excited to work at the North Park Theatre and see the sold-out show with the Growlers (read the SoundDiego interview here). In a way, this feels like a first show, since the crowds for Rodriguez and Ronnie Spector were generally older. This is the venue's first all-ages show, and I think it's really going to shine a light on the venue in new ways. Meanwhile, Cloud Nothings are performing at Soda Bar, and that one is also sold out -- in fact, I'm surprised it didn't sell out in one day because of the impact this band is making around the Internet and on radio. I predict they will just go skyward from here, so if you're a lucky ticketholder, enjoy the small venue because surely next time they come around it will be in a much larger place. And, of course, Ringo Starr is at Humprey's, which certainly sold out in a heartbeat. If you're not holding for these shows, fret not: Okapi Sun are going to party down at the Casbah, the Che Cafe celebrate new life tonight after a judge-ordered stay on their eviction notice, and the Euphoria Brass Band bring their dixie party to Bar Pink.
