With music available everywhere and anywhere, it isn't necessarily radio that breaks new bands anymore. Still, at least with Sleigh Bells, FM 94/9 got on board early by having the duo perform at the Holiday Hootenanny a couple of years ago. Now Sleigh Bells have a new record, Reign of Terror, and at least in certain circles, they are one of today's it bands. After performing on Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago (still a touchstone of pop culture and music) the band has made itself known to a much wider audience. Sleigh Bells perform at 4th & B Tuesday night, and as my friend said, "They sound best when they're really, excruciatingly loud." Be sure to bring your earplugs.
