Greg Dawson is the Vice President of News for NBC 7 San Diego and Telemundo 20, overseeing newsroom operations and editorial leadership across both stations.

Greg joined NBC 7 San Diego in September 1989 as a producer and has spent more than three decades shaping the station’s news coverage. Over the years, he has produced nearly every newscast at the station and reported on hundreds of local stories as a field producer, building deep roots in the San Diego community.

As a special projects producer, Greg’s work has taken him across the country and around the world. His reporting has covered a wide range of complex and impactful stories, from the war in Bosnia to the brown tree snake invasion in Guam. His commitment to strong journalism has earned him 10 regional Emmy Awards, two Golden Mic Awards, and numerous other local honors.

Prior to his tenure in San Diego, Greg worked as a producer at KOLD-TV in Tucson, Arizona; KOBI-TV in Medford, Oregon; and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, gaining experience in diverse markets and newsrooms.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.
