Angelica Campos

Angelica Campos joined the NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 team as a meteorologist, bringing with her years of experience forecasting across the country.

Prior to returning to NBC and Telemundo, Angelica served as Chief Evening Meteorologist at KGTV for eight years. Before making San Diego home, she spent five years at WJW-TV (FOX 8) in Cleveland, Ohio, where she covered everything from severe thunderstorms to lake-effect snow as a morning meteorologist.

Angelica began her career in 2007 at AccuWeather in State College, working as a bilingual meteorologist providing forecasts for television stations nationwide. During her time there, she gained both national and international experience and appeared as a guest meteorologist tracking winter storms, hurricanes, and severe weather on major networks including Fox News, Fox Business, Bloomberg Television, ABC News, and CBS News. She also provided weather analysis for Spanish-language stations in Puerto Rico and for Univision affiliates in Fresno, Monterrey, and San Francisco.

Angelica holds a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences and Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University, as well as a degree in Mass Communications from University of West Georgia. She is a member of the National Weather Association and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Born in San José, Angelica is proud of her heritage and her bilingual background. She is honored to serve both English- and Spanish-speaking communities while covering storms and all things weather for NBC 7 and Telemundo 20.

Outside the newsroom, Angelica and her family are passionate about fitness and the outdoors. You can often find her running or competing in triathlons throughout San Diego County. She is also a proud member of Team Hoyt San Diego, where she runs alongside athletes with disabilities and helps promote inclusivity through sport.

Angelica is a military wife and the proud mother of two boys. She and her family share their home with two dogs — a Rottweiler named Jasmine and a Maltese-Poodle mix named Nimbus.
