Adonis Albright reports on weekends for NBC 7 San Diego. An Emmy-nominated journalist, Adonis is passionate about telling impactful stories that matter most to his community.
He joined NBC 7 in August 2022, returning home to San Diego after serving as a reporter, producer, and anchor at KYMA News 11 in Yuma, Arizona. During his two years there, Adonis covered major regional stories, including the migrant crisis at the Yuma border, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the tragic 2021 Santee plane crash. His reporting on the crash earned a nomination for a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award.
Adonis began his journalism career as a production assistant at KUSI-TV while also training in the award-winning Newscene program at San Diego City College. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from San Diego State University.
Known for his versatility, Adonis has worked across multiple newsroom roles — reporter, producer, and anchor — giving him a well-rounded perspective and adaptability in fast-moving news environments. As a San Diego native, he takes pride in covering stories that directly impact the community he calls home.
When he’s not chasing a lead, Adonis enjoys traveling and attending music festivals.
