A downtown hotel owner may give thousands of dollars to gay rights organizations to end a boycott of his business.

In an attempt to end a boycott by the members of the gay community, Doug Manchester is considering giving $25,000 in cash and $100,00 in Hyatt services to a gay and lesbian charity.

Manchester donated money in support of Proposition 8. He said he supported the measure because of his Catholic faith.

In response to the donation, local gay rights leaders organized a boycott of the Manchester Grand Hyatt.
