There's a whole slew of bands taking on a retro-vibe of bright beach pop with a lean toward doo-wop, using a fuzzy sound from vinyl albums being played on a lo-fi stereo system. Sonny & the Sunsets is one of those bands, and they take the sounds of the past while making them their own. The band performs at the Casbah with Memories and Teenage Burritos joining them -- a perfect for first dates or old lovers. Around town, Soda Bar hosts Hockey and the L.A. favorite, Saint Motel, while Tim Pyles hosts MaryJane's Underground at the Hard Rock Hotel. Lots of great options tonight for music and good vibes.
