Dead Can Dance Come Alive at San Diego Civic Theatre

Dead Can Dance play a three-decade spanning set at the San Diego Civic Theatre on May 11, 2020

It's the perfect Halloween season announcement: Dead Can Dance will be gathering all of the skeletons from their closet and playing a three-decade spanning set at the San Diego Civic Theatre on May 11, 2020.

The Australian-British outfit, anchored by vocalists and songwriters Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, are embarking on a tour of the Americas starting on April 17 and ending the last week of May. It's the first time they've come our direction since their Coachella appearance in April of 2013.

The year before, they actually came our way with an appearance at Humphreys.

After some years away from the road, they've already sold out two legs of their Spring 2019 European tour, playing songs from their 2018 album "Dionysus," their 1988 album "The Serpent's Egg," their 1993 album "Into the Labyrinth" and many more. Dead Can Dance do have, after all, some nine studio albums to their name.

The gothic neoclassical art-rock pioneers will be joined by Denmark's Agnes Obel on this tour, who herself leans a bit more traditional in her neoclassical folk flourishes.

If you're sleeping now, you might want to come to life for this show.

Dead Can Dance headline San Diego Civic Theatre on May 11, 2020. Pre-sale tickets go live on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m., and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. Get them here.
