Politically Speaking: The DUI Death Toll

Sensing a greater number of DUI deaths on San Diego highway and roads, NBC7 did its own research into summertime fatalities and found five between June 1 and August 26. It’s a big number, one that led the San Diego District Attorney to label the last few months the “summer of shame.” To discuss the numbers, Deputy District Attorney Cally Bright, who prosecutes many of these cases, and NBC 7 Assignment Editor Tom Jones, who helped research the numbers behind the NBC 7 story, spoke with NBC 7’s Wendy Fry.
