Are the Chargers gonna leave San Diego in their rear-view mirror? The Chargers stadium scramble is creating an interesting backdrop to next year’s San Diego mayoral race, in which the incumbent is a shoe-in for re-election. His team’s dealings with the NFL over a new Chargers stadium have come into question, as it relates to a proposed hotel room tax measure — both issues aimed at next year’s ballot. Tony Perry, retired San Diego Bureau Chief of The Los Angeles Times, and Scott Lewis, Editor-in-Chief of our media partner Voice of San Diego, spoke with NBC 7’s Gene Cubbison.
