Lilac Fire at 3,000 Acres, Threatening 1,000 Structures

A brush fire that sparked alongside the State Route 76 and Interstate 15 interchange took off in extreme fire conditions, scorching 3,000-acres and prompting Gov. Jerry Brown to declare a state of emergency Thursday.
