Politically Speaking: America United or Divided

On Friday, Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. But, it was not without controversy. Some elected officials decided to boycott, saying their absence was a way to refuse “normalizing or legitimizing” Trump’s presidency. Many also cited Trump’s inflammatory language toward women and minorities. But, President Trump says he will unite the country. NBC 7’s Mari Payton speaks with Francine Busby, with the San Diego County Democratic Party, and Esther Valdes, with the Republican Party of San Diego County, to discuss the political future ahead.
