Politically Speaking: San Diego's Film Office

From “Top Gun” to “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” San Diego has been the backdrop for countless iconic movies, films, commercials, documentaries and TV shows. But ever since the San Diego Film Commission was dismantled due to budget cuts, there has been an aggressive effort by the city and county to form a “Film Office.” In this week’s “Politically Speaking,” Marianne Kushi talks with San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, Supervisor Dave Roberts and Francine Filsinger, president of San Diego Filmmaker, about their strategy to find funding for the office, and who will run it.
