$28M in Cocaine Seized by Law Enforcement

A U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement team aboard San Diego-based USS Rentz seized $28 million in cocaine during a major drug bust. The drugs – weighing about one ton — were recovered from a Costa Rican fishing boat on Aug. 16 during a raid north of the Galapagos Islands. On Sept. 20, Coast Guard crews in Florida collected the wrapped packages. The bust was part of “Operation Martillo.”
