Morning Salute – Army Colonel Gordon R. Roberts

On July 11, 1969 having already been awarded both the Bronze Star and Silver Star, Colonel Roberts became a true hero. With his platoon under heavy enemy grenade and machine gun fire, he single-handedly eliminated the personnel in 3 different machine gun nests and saved the lives of more than 20 of his fellow soldiers.
