NBC 7 San Diego proud to welcome Dagmar Midcap to its 4, 5, 6 and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts

NBC 7 San Diego today announced that weather reporter Dagmar Midcap has joined its evening news team. Starting this week, Midcap will take over weather reporting for NBC 7 San Diego’s 4, 5, 6 and 11pm weekday newscasts.

Most recently, Midcap worked in Atlanta as the main weather anchor for WGCL-TV, the CBS affiliate in Atlanta. She grew up in Vancouver, Canada and started her television career at WBNX-TV in Akron, Ohio before returning to Canada to work on VTV’s “Breakfast” before moving to Global Television’s BCTV “Morning Show” as a traffic reporter. Midcap is also a well-respected automotive journalist and test drove cars and motorcycles as the co-host of Global Television’s “Driving Television”. Midcap attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology’s Broadcast Journalism program.

“It’s really exciting to have Dagmar Midcap join our team and to have a local weather presence again, “said Greg Dawson, Vice President for News for NBC 7 San Diego. “Dagmar was extremely popular in Atlanta and we’re sure she will make an immediate and positive impact here in San Diego.”

Additionally, Greg Bledsoe takes over as NBC 7 San Diego’s new weekend meteorologist. Bledsoe is currently a reporter and photographer for NBC 7 San Diego. The Colorado native is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s School of Journalism who completed post-graduate work in meteorology through Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program. Bledsoe has won multiple national awards form the National Press Photographers’ Association and multiple Emmys for writing, editing and reporting.

Midcap and Bledsoe join an impressive local weather line-up that also includes Jodi Kodesh for NBC 7 San Diego’s News in the Morning and Whitney Southwick for NBC 7 San Diego’s News at Noon. In addition, Lorrie Jordan will occasionally handle fill-in weather needs.
