African Man Receives Life-Changing Surgery in SD

Most of us take for granted the little things in life, such as speaking, eating solid food and swallowing. Blessing Makwera, 22, of Zimbabwe does not. At age 14, Makwera’s face was disfigured by a bomb. But after three major surgeries at Sharp in San Diego, he has a new lease on life. NBC 7’s Rory Devine has his inspirational story.
