Four anti-fossil fuel protestors, one of whom had glued his bare feet to the floor of the stands, delayed the match between Coco Gauff and Karolína Muchová by 49 minutes.

A protest in Arthur Ashe Stadium disrupted play between Coco Gauff and Karolina Muchova's U.S. Open semifinal match.

The "environmental" protest began early in the second set when Gauff was up 6-4, 1-0 at 8:05 p.m. ET. After 10 minutes, the players left the court.

An X clip reveals the protestors were chanting "end fossil fuels."

A male climate activist caused a verbal disturbance and glued himself to the cement floor in section 313, senior police sources with the NYPD told NBC New York.

Law enforcement filled the section of the stands where the four protestors were. One protestor reportedly lingered but once he was removed, play resumed.

After a five-minute warm-up, players were able to continue the match.

American Madison Keys and Aryna Sabalenka will play their semifinal match following the completion of Gauff-Muchova.
