Politically Speaking: Energy of Choice

There’s a growing movement of cities and counties whose residents can get their electricity from nonprofit providers, as opposed to traditional gas & electric outfits. It’s a program called “Community Choice Aggregation,” where customers are free to “opt out” of and stay with providers such as SDG&E. Nicole Capretz, founder of the Climate Action Campaign, and Peter Zahn, a Solana Beach resident and former council member there, talk through the basics.
