Family and friends passed out fliers on Thursday in Torrance in the hopes of finding a woman last seen Sunday night dressed in an "Alice in Wonderland" costume.
Jillian Abe, a petite blonde who worked at a costume store, suffers from anxiety and has been without her medication since Sunday, friends said. She is 32, 5 foot 4, 92 pounds, and has blue eyes. She was last seen wearing an "Alice in Wonderland" costume and a blonde wig.
A co-worker reported her missing on Tuesday, a day after she failed to show up for work. She was last seen by a clerk at Handy Mart, 1811 Cabrillo Avenue on Sunday at 9 p.m.
The last activity on Abe's debit card was Saturday.
A call to Abe's cellphone went to voicemail. Earlier in the week, the phone was ringing, a friend said.
"She was really happy," said friend Megan Oates, who was the last person to see Abe when the two were at the Renaissance Fair in Irwindale. "It was a lot of fun. People were taking pictures with us all day because we weren't in the traditional Renaissance outfits. I was Ariel and she was Alice."
Abe and Oates returned to the costume store around 9 p.m. when Oates was getting a ride home. Abe insisted on walking, Oates said.
"Everyone was offering her a ride," Oates said. "She said, 'no. No, I just want to smoke.'"
Abe may have stopped at a mini mart Sunday night, but she never made it to her house a few blocks away, police said.
"I will keep walking the neighborhood until I find her," said her husband Ryutaro Dew Abe.
Nancy Freytes-Gomez hoped nothing bad happened to her friend.
"With so many days going by and the fact that she hasn't called work..."
