Stunning Time-Lapse Video Shows ‘Sea Smoke' Over Lake Superior

As cold arctic air moves in and hits the (comparatively) warm water of Lake Superior, steam — also known as “sea smoke” — rises off the surface of the lake. According to NBC affiliate KBJR, water temperatures averaged near 35 degrees and air temperature hit -9 degrees with a wind chill of around -31 degrees.
