What Was That? SpaceX's Rocket Treats San Diegans to Stellar Show in The Sky

The Falcon 9 launch of 53 Starlink satellites launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

NBCUniversal Media, LLC Spacex’s rocket danced across the SoCal sky during a launch Thursday night.

Did you look up at the night's sky on Thursday?

Many San Diegans and beyond were treated to quite a show last night after SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 aircraft into low-Earth orbit. Residents from Oceanside to Temecula to even in Sinaloa, Mexico submitted images to NBC 7 of the craft as it shot across the sky after sunset.

The Falcon 9 launch of 53 Starlink satellites launched from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

"Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean," Spacex's site read.
