Tips of the Trade: Farmhouse Modern

Interior designer Angela Stone gives us tips on how you can create a unique look that she coined “Farmhouse Modern.” She describes her aesthetic as a style that combines the character of old with the simplicity of new. The “Farmhouse” aspect relates to pieces that are storied, worn and natural like an English kitchen table made of barn wood, in which the nails have been pulled out, but its modest origin is intentionally exposed. Stone believes that there is great beauty in allowing things to age naturally. This episode of Open House was hosted from 1055 Park Ave., New York, NY.
