When a Fresno State University student was robbed just outside his apartment, the suspect fired one shot but it hit the student’s iPhone and ricocheted.

An iPhone in the pocket of a Central California college student blocked a bullet during an armed robbery near Fresno State.

Gomez says detectives located the victim, who told them he had been walking home and nearly reached his front door when a man approached him from behind and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at him.
