Inmate Held Months Too Long Due to Paperwork Mistake

A paperwork mistake is being blamed for a Pennsylvania inmate being kept in prison for a year and a half past his release date. The inmate was scheduled to be released on Nov. 25, 2014. However, in the interim, new charges filed against another inmate with the same last name were mistakenly duplicated and placed in the wrong file, delaying the other inmate’s release until late in April 2016.
