Egypt: Imprisoned Google Exec To Be Released

CNN's Hala Gorani is reporting that Google's Middle East Marketing executive who was taken prisoner at the start of Egypt's protests last week, will be released at 4 p.m. Monday.

After flying into a roiling Egypt, Wael Ghonim, tweeted that "we are all ready to die." He was already missing by the time he sent that.

Ghonim was thought to be held by the Egyptian government, and they've indicated they wish to speak to the opposition leaders.

One of the opposition groups, the "6th of April" movement, named him a spokesperson, so as to help gain his release from government authorities, according to CBS news.

The opposition movement made their intention very clear: if the government's leaders "want to talk to us, talk to Ghonim."

Ghonim has been missing since Jan. 25. As of Wednesday.

Ghonim's family told CBS that they received a call in the middle of the night, purportedly from government offiicals, telling them he was "being taught a lesson."
