2 Shot Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide at Group Home

A fight that started between two men at a group home for the disabled in San Bernardino may have ended in a murder-suicide Tuesday afternoon when two people were found dead inside the home. Ted Chen reports for NBC4 News at 5 p.m. from San Bernardino Tuesday, June 24, 2014.

Two men in southern California were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide at a group home that serves the mentally disabled, San Bernardino police said Tuesday.

Investigators said the shooting at the home in the 1100 block of Hancock Street may have stemmed from an argument that took place the night before. Police were called to the home about 11 p.m. Monday on a report of an altercation between the home owner and a resident.

About 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, a resident called police to report that blood was coming out from underneath a bedroom door.

Responding officers forced their way inside the bedroom and found two victims with gunshot wounds.

Police said both men were in their mid to late 30s. The victims were not identified.

The home serves as a facility for the mentally ill, police said.
