Driver Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash in Mira Mesa

One person suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Mira Mesa on Thursday.

According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), two vehicles collided around 4:11 p.m. on Calle Cristobal and Thomas Hayes Lane.

SDPD says a 1991 Honda Accord was driving westbound on Calle Cristobal toward Thomas Hayes Lane when a 2003 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Calle Cristobal took a left turn onto Thomas Hayes and got in the way of the Accord.

The driver of the Accord, a 53-year-old male, suffered compound fractures in his right leg and was taken to an area hospital. The driver of the Camry suffered minor injuries. SDPD Traffic Division

Investigators determined that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash.
