One of the biggest names of concert tickets is accused of scalping.
The lawsuit filed by a ticket broker claims Ticketmaster was selling tickets above their face value to brokers, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Concerts like the Eagles and Journey are among those named in the suit.
The underlying lawsuit is a breach-of contract allegation from the broker who says Ticketmaster reneged on an agreement to buy his company.
The New York-based ticket broker, Chuck Lombardo, claims in the suit that he routinely sold prime seats at higher than normal face value as part of his duties for Ticketmaster in 2008, according to the paper.
A spokesperson for the company called the lawsuit “meritless” and said they will defend it “with vigor.”
Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc. and concert Live Nation plan to merge--giving them an even greater control over ticket prices.
