Oceanside police are investigating the shooting of a teenager in the same community that witnessed the shooting of a soccer coach less than two weeks ago.
Officers found a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds on Grant Street around 2 a.m. Sunday. The teen was airlifted to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries.
Family and friends tell our media partner the North County Times that the victim's name was Antonio Carachurit.
A memorial of candles, pictures and flowers was set up in front of the teenager's aunt's home in Oceanside Monday.
A suspect has not yet been identified.
A shooting occurred in the same neighborhood on March 2 when a volunteer soccer coach was wounded according to the NCTimes.
