A suspicious device temporarily suspended the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS)'s Blue Line, authorities said.
The device was collected and tested benign, meaning there are no explosives, said Jan Caldwell with the San Diego Sheriff's Department (SDSO).
Fire crews were called out to investigate the suspicious device found near the trolley tracks by J Street and Interstate-5, at approximately 2 p.m., Chula Vista Fire Department authorities (CVFD) confirmed.
The MTS is running a bus between the H Street Station and Palomar as the track is fully closed between the two stations. Passengers can expect a 20 to 30 minute delay on the Blue Line.
Further testing will be done off-site.
