An elderly woman watching television smelled smoke and escaped the home in time, San Diego Fire-Rescue officials said.
The fire broke out around 4:18 p.m. Tuesday on the 3500 block of Herman Avenue.
A neighbor saw smoke coming from the attic and called 911.
Firefighters found the source of the fire beneath the floor.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
No other information was immediately available.
