Politicians Refuse Lunch With Mexican President Due to Jailed Marine

California politicians including Sen. Joel Anderson and Assemblyman Tim Donnelly declined a lunch invitation with Gov. Jerry Brown and the president of Mexico on Aug. 26, 2014. The leaders say they’re not happy with the jailing of former Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who’s been in jail since April when he crossed the U.S.-Mexico border with guns in his truck.
