Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Carmel Mountain Area

A plane in route to Carlsbad from Gillespie Field made an emergency landing in the Carmel Valley area Sunday. The plane experienced engine failure but fortunately, the pilot and his instructor were able to land the aircraft in a field away from homes. Neither were hurt. The pilot was getting re-certified when the emergency happened.
