New Plan to Curb Drunk Driving in North County

A new initiative called “Avoid the 8 on 78” aims to combat drunk driving and save lives. It targets State Route 78 from Interstate 5 to Interstate 15. The motivation behind the program is because from 2010 to 2013, 1,600 drivers were arrested for suspicion of DUI in the area. NBC 7’s Dave Summers reports from a checkpoint Friday night.
