For a chance to hear about the problems this year’s mayoral candidates will solve in San Diego, NBC 7 San Diego will host the first of two debates April 23 at 6 p.m.
The debate will tackle issues facing the City of San Diego’s budget and resources, such as public safety and pensions for city employees.

NBC 7 San Diego’s political reporter Gene Cubbison, will join reporters and VoiceOfSanDiego.org journalists in asking questions of the four major mayoral candidates – Congressman Bob Filner, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, Councilman Carl DeMaio and Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher. Anchor Catherine Garcia will moderate the debate.
NBCSanDiego will live stream the debate beginning at 6 p.m.

If you miss the debate, segments will be posted to NBCSanDiego Monday evening.
A second debate will take place Sunday, May 20 at 6 p.m. on NBC 7.
