Mountain Lion Roams Rancho Penasquitos

New video shared with NBC 7 shows a large mountain lion near an RPQ home just days before a child was attacked at Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve. The boy was attacked Monday while walking with a large group of adults and children in the middle of the preserve. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. Wildlife officials killed a mountain lion the day after the attack. Tests will be done to try and determine if the mountain lion is the one that was involved in the attack.
