Salute – “Iron Dog” Alaskan Guard Races Snowmobiles

We salute Warrant Officer Michael Williams and Staff Sergeant Vincent Salzbrun. They are members of the Alaska Army National Guard and are representing their fellow soldiers in the world’s longest and toughest snowmobile race, known as the “Iron Dog”. On February 17th they left “Big Lake”, Alaska on a 2,000 mile trek that will take them to Nome, and then on to Fairbanks. They’ve known each other for over 10 years and have been deployed together multiple times. The race puts their skill and determination to the test on remote trails in extreme weather conditions.
