Marine Pulls Victim From Burning Car in Miramar

A U.S. Marine pulled three people from a burning car after an accident near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Saturday night according to San Diego Fire-Rescue officials.

Two cars crashed on Miramar Road around 10:30 p.m. sending three people to the hospital, one with life threatening injuries.

The Marine was coming out of a 24 Hour Fitness when he saw the car on fire.

“He actually ran over, pulled the victim that was in the vehicle out and assisted the other two victims from the vehicle,” SDFD Battalion Chief David Gerboth explained. “Luckily he was here. It definitely could have been much worse if he wasn’t so he did an awesome thing today for sure."

There were three victims: a man in his 20s, another man and a woman both in their 30s.
