Clairemont Man Wakes to Intruder

The incident occured about 7:50 a.m. near the 4400 block of Manitou Way

San Diego police are still searching for a burglary suspect after a man woke to find an intruder standing at his bedroom door in Clairemont Saturday morning.

The incident occurred just before 7:50 a.m. at a home in the 4400 block of Manitou Way, said SDPD Sgt. Ray Battrick.
 
According to police, the victim's wife had gone out for a walk, leaving the man to sleep alone when he was awoken after hearing a noise, and discovered an intruder standing in the doorway of his bedroom.
 
The intruder reportedly fled when the man started yelling, which alerted a neighbor to call police, said Battrick.
 
When police arrived to the home, the intruder was gone. It is unknown if any items were removed from the home, according to Battrick.
 
The suspect is said to be in his 20's, standing about  5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a gray sweater and black pants at the time of the incident.
 
No injuries were reported.
