The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group returned to Naval Base San Diego Monday after a seven-month deployment to the Pacific, Middle East and the Horn of Africa.
A very large group - approximately 4,000 sailors and U.S. Marines - returned home.
Those returning are sailors with USS Makin Island, USS Somerset and USS Comstock. Also, Marines from seven different squadrons will be coming home with them.
