Investigation Launched Into Possible Kmart Bomb Threat

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation into a possible bomb threat at a Kmart retail store in Spring Valley Saturday, officials confirmed.

At 2 p.m., deputies were on scene at a Kmart located at 935 Sweetwater Road investigating the potential threat. No further details were immediately released.

Officials said staff and management at the retail store decided to evacuate the business out of an abundance of caution. No injuries have been reported.

By 3:30 p.m., the scene had been cleared and a Kmart employee told NBC 7 San Diego that operations were back to normal at the store. The employee said there was no bomb found at the business, but did not elaborate on the situation.
