Hydrant vs Vehicle: Raw Video

Crews are cleaning up a mess after a man, suffering a medical condition, crashed his truck into a transformer box and fire hydrant in Mira Mesa. The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday on Mira Mesa Boulevard and Scripps Ranch Boulevard. Water shot up from the ground as well and a power outage affected a nearby strip mall for several hours. The driver was taken to a local hospital, where he’s expected to be okay. Police would not reveal the medical issue that may have caused the crash.
