Cooking Event Benefits SD Food Bank

The monthly event,”One Chef, One Dish, One San Diego,” features local chefs preparing the one dish that put them on the culinary map. On Aug. 24, 2015, Chef Jean-Michel Diot will whip up his dish at Harvard Cookin’ Girl kitchens in La Jolla. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jacobs and Cushman San Diego Food Bank’s Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, which provides backpacks of food to chronically hungry local elementary school students on the weekends, when free school meals are not available. NBC 7’s Whitney Southwick talks about the event and important food program with Chef Diot as well as James Floros, president and CEO of the San Diego Food Bank, and Bibi Kasrai or Harvard Cookin’ Girl.
