A tractor trailer loaded with Christmas decorations caught fire

NBC 7’s Elena Gomez reports on the fire that threatened to spread from the loading dock to the warehouse at the Mountain View location.

A fire that started inside a tractor trailer at the loading dock of a Mountain View store spread into the building Wednesday.

The fire was initially reported at 10:21 p.m. on the 300 block of Marketplace Avenue to the Home Depot, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) confirmed.

SDFD says an 18-wheeler was fully engulfed in flames in the loading dock area, which then extended into the warehouse.

A second alarm was called around 10:35 p.m.

There were reports of possible explosions heard inside the building. All employees were evacuated and accounted for, according to SDFD.

The fire was knocked down at 10:38 p.m., SDFD said.

No one was injured.

Officials said it appears there were Christmas decorations inside the tractor trailer.
